There’s traveling and then there’s TRAVELING, a distinction I failed to make until my trip to Turkey.
It’s not like I haven’t been out of the country (Jamaica! Mexico! Bahamas! Puerto Rico!) nor am I unfamiliar with other cultures having grown up in Miami. But traveling is simply not the same when the destination is another continent, truly foreign.
