Birdie writes for Bonne Vie (en Anglais “The Good Life”) a blog that celebrates what it means to live fabulously from the inside out!

Birdie

Behold, fabulosity! You may get your sunglasses.

Apparently, that also includes maintaining a vigilant personal vendetta against raisins.  “Yes,” she says “raisins, the food.”

She cannot resist the allure of being surrounded vintage inspired designs and so she is interning as Marketing Guru, Money Goddess, and Business Liaison for the Seattle based vintage fashion house, Deco Modiste.

(Perhaps I should call her  Dita Von Birdie!)

She believes, fervently, in the power of feminine beauty.  Her fashion focus is in helping women find clothing that works for them.  Birdie, Bonne Vie, and every project in which she is involved is based on revolutionizing the interaction between women and fashion.

“We want to show women they are beautiful, no matter what, and that there is a solution to our sartorial problems.  It sounds shallow at first, but deep down, we want to make the world more accepting of women if every shape, size and stature.”

She calls it being body positive, embracing whatever shape you have.  Birdie is conscious of how media and society can batter a woman’s sense of self-esteem and how, all too often, we unwittingly perpetuate these stereotypes.

“Real women have curves.”

As daughters and mothers and sisters, as friends and impromptu fashion consultants, as real women of all shapes and sizes it is important to remember that real women have verve.

In Her Words

Everybody has some potential to be really awesome – I think it’s important to inspire those around me to be that most amazing person they can be.  I know that I have this great medium to really empower readers to do well in all aspects of their life, through enthusiasm and real-life application.  I don’t use magic and wishes to get what I want because I believe that, statistically, the good life will come to you if you put yourself in a position to receive it.  I’m just a normal girl with a normal working-girl/student lifestyle; I’m here to share my thoughts.

I want people to believe in and love themselves.  I understand, though, that not everyone feels 101% all the time.  I write because I want you to experience and enjoy this magnificent life you’ve been given; but I also write because I know that sometimes we all just need something uplifting, gorgeous and inspiring to really shine some light on what makes life amazing.

Sharing the Love!
