On Friday the 13th, the year 2029, an asteroid will pass so close to the earth that it will dip below earth’s communication satellites.
In 2036, depending on the specifics of that cosmic drive-by, the asteroid will obliterate Santa Monica (or thereabouts) and create a wall of water 3 miles high.
If you haven’t heard of Neil deGrasse Tyson, you are missing one the preeminent scientists of our day. Not to mention a really engaging speaker. Frankly, he’s just awesome.
