Just a heads up that I am hosting the Carnival of Personal Development on January 12, 2008!
If you are interested in submitting any of your awesome articles, go here. (But of course you are!) I am taking submissions until January 10, 2008.
The last issue, hosted by Momentor, had several really fabulous articles.
Start 2009 With A Bang!
Living Almost Large discovered a genius method for keeping your husband happy with his old, beater car.
Ancient Wisdom Modern Mind finally pinpoints why I have been ‘eh’ on affirmations. Luckily, the article shows how we can make effective affirmations.
Addiction Recovery basics posted an incredible video.
My mother said “I am so glad you’re alive, and you are not welcome in my home or in my life until you are living a life of recovery. If I never see you alive again, I want you to know how much you will be missed.” And then she closed the door on me.
Orna Rose wrote about good things she’s gained from cancer.
And, finally, Erin Pavlina shows us that our beliefs about rich people can help us sabotage our own success.
Sharing The Love
I’ve been awarded the “Butterfly Award” from Ian of Quantum Learning!

Basically it’s an award given to awesome blogs. And I get to give the award to 10 blogs I  !
So without further ado, I would like to give a Butterfly Award to:
- Squawkfox
- The Simple Marriage Project
- Writer Dad
- The Usual Error
- CurlyWurlyGurly
- Korean Dreemwhorld
- The Bloggess (Warning: Super Adult Rated Content)
- Sanityfound’s Ramblings
- Husbands and Dads
- The Art of Non-Conformity
The Official Rules
- Put the logo on your blog.
- Add a link to the person who awarded it to you
- Link 10 other bloggers of whom you want to give this award to.
…or not. I don’t necessarily see “Husbands and Dads” putting a big old butterfly on their blog, but at least they’ll know they are appreciated!

Ohh, I am so doing this Personal Development Carnival. Love it. Especially since the “articles must fit within one of three categories: Personal Development, Personal Finance, or Personal Health.” Dang. What if a submitted post fits all these? snicker. Hmmmm, maybe I AM personal development blog.?.

Hi
Seeing as affirmations form a part of my sight and application, I took a look at the post you refer to.
Great! I’m all for the realistic stuff and really using them to your advantage, not the pie in the sky stuff.
They are there to help you improve your life, even if it is just one little step at a time. Keep it believable, choose your wording and ensure it feels good.
Cheers
Juliet
