Chris and I recently sat down for an interview with Corey of the fantastic SimpleMarriage.
The exercise was much more fascinating than I imagined it would be, seeing where Chris and I differed on our answers. I’m sure you will not be surprised to learn that Mr. PersistentIllusion is wise indeed!
So pop on over to SimpleMarriage to find out the secret to simplifying your marriage!

I don’t know, Connie. I got him to agree to the interview. I think a photo may be pushing it, lol.

Corey is a great guy. He was my counselor for a couple of years. He is awesome. I love his blog. He gives great information and a common sense , laid back person. It’s been fun to watch his blog grow.
hayden tompkins says:
Wow, you’ve met him in the flesh! It must be so interesting to read his blog, knowing the ‘person behind it’.

very nice interview…i enjoyed getting to know a bit more about you and chris. you’ve got a great attitude toward marriage…may the honeymoon last forever.
after 16 years with ant, i love our relationship more today than when we were first dating or even when we were newly-married. we’ve grown together but still have our own interests and hobbies. we compromise a lot and laugh even more. you’re right about not taking anything too seriously.
hayden tompkins says:
I don’t know if you can tell from the interview, but Chris is mellow. He almost never gets upset or worked up over anything, so I think we balance each other out.
You guys are so cute, 15 years!

Enjoyed reading the interview. I’ve lately become very interested in couples–what brought them together, what keeps them together, and so forth. Sound like the two of you are perfect for each other, and I hope you keep that honeymoon energy going.
hayden tompkins says:
Sadly, being with Chris was almost a compulsion. I literally couldn’t have walked away, I just had to be with him. I’ve never felt like that before and it was a shock to found out that my brain was just not in charge at all. And knowing we were going to get married after only two months of dating? Totally overloaded my inner Spock.

I loved the interview Hayden! Chris truly seems your perfect foil. I would love to hear the story of how you met.
hayden tompkins says:
Yeah, he didn’t ask me for my phone number the first night no matter how much I flipped my hair or how coquettishly I blinked in his direction!
