9.  Be a diva.

trump.jpgConfidence.  A diva is someone who has total self-confidence and doesn’t hesitate to share it with the world.

V.I.P.  In a word, a diva is a star.

You should be too!  If you aren’t the star of your own life; if you have ceded your stardom to work, your spouse, kids, a boss, a best friend, or anyone who isn’t you then alarm claxons should sound in your head.  “Danger!  Danger, Will Robinson!”

Upfront.  Divas are never nice.  Divas are gracious, agreeable, accommodating, and friendly.

queen-latifah.jpgA diva, however, is no doormat.  A diva speaks their mind and stands up for themself.

Presence.  A diva has a compelling presence.  Regardless of the action, no matter how tedious, a diva works it.  Making copies?  Joe Schmoe would be slumped, staring vacantly at  the copier.  A diva is standing back straight, head high, taking the opportunity to bond with any passing coworker.  (You never know who might be passing through.)

Egomaniac.  Tread lightly the line between diva and egomaniac.  You should have confidence in yourself and inspire it in others.  People should be uplifted by your presence, not assaulted by it.

A diva wants everyone to be fully themselves.

Self-confidence, independence, and chutzpah, when combined with authenticity and an open heart, can overwhelm mere mortals and inspire legions.
